AKSAAS Legal is the brainchild of Ms. Kiran Singh, a seasoned legal practitioner who embarked on her legal journey in 1992. With nearly three decades of experience, Ms. Singh has established herself as a distinguished lawyer, specializing in complex legal matters and policy issues at the Supreme Court, High Courts, and Tribunals.

Throughout her extensive career, AKSAAS Legal has provided professional legal services to a wide range of clients, including private and public sector institutions, the social sector, individuals, and marginalized communities on a pro-bono basis. Ms. Singh has worked on numerous significant cases, demonstrating her expertise in diverse areas such as commercial disputes, property matters, tenancy issues, family law disputes, arbitration proceedings, and service-related matters and Criminal Matters as well.

Ms. Singh’s reputation extends to her appearances before esteemed courts, including the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi, and subordinate courts, where she passionately advocates for the rights of her clients. She has also appeared before various judicial tribunals, further expanding her legal experience.

A notable aspect of Ms. Singh’s commitment is her representation of victims of rape. She has passionately advocated for them, taking up their cases in numerous writ petitions before the Hon’ble Delhi High Court on behalf of the Delhi Legal Services Authority. Additionally, since 2006, Ms. Singh has served as a Counselor for the Delhi Legal Services Authority, providing invaluable legal guidance to individuals seeking assistance and support.

Ms. Singh’s dedication to social justice is evident in her collaboration with several NGOs, including “Marg”, “Haq” and “New Life Center”. She offers legal advice and representation to marginalized groups, championing their rights in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and the Hon’ble Delhi High Court. Her work also extends to advocating for transgender rights through various projects undertaken with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on behalf of Marg.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Singh has actively participated in projects and initiatives aimed at promoting legal literacy and social welfare. She has collaborated with organizations such as Oxfam and UNDP, contributing her expertise on legal matters and addressing issues such as the FCRA Act 1997 and legal literacy through film projects.

Ms. Singh has made significant contributions in her roles as a member of various committees. She has served on sexual harassment committees at institutions like Lady Harding Medical College, ESI Hospital ZILMIL, and other private companies, striving to ensure safe environments and address harassment issues. She has also been a member of the Family Welfare Committee (New Delhi) and the Central Administrative Tribunal under DLSA, where she worked with leprosy-affected individuals and filed Public Interest Litigations (PILs) on their behalf.

From 2015 to 2017, Ms. Singh served as a steering committee board member under the J.J. Act for the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) under the Ministry of Women and Child Development. Currently, she contributes her legal expertise as a member of the NOC committee, reviewing and clearing international adoption files.

Throughout her remarkable journey, Ms. Kiran Singh has remained committed to promoting justice, advocating for the marginalized, and utilizing her legal expertise to make a positive impact on society.
