Contribution To Society
- Worked as a Counselor for Delhi Legal Services Authority from 2006 to 2020.
- Served as a team member appointed for jail visits with National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) for two years to investigate the issue of Juveniles Languishing in Jail.
- Collaborated with several NGOs such as “MARG”, “HAQ”, “New Life Center”, etc. for the last 25 years, offering legal advice on various issues relating to marginalized groups and instituting legal proceedings on their behalf in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and the Hon’ble Delhi High Court. Also worked on transgender issues and carried out many projects with UNDP on behalf of Marg.
- Conducted/attended numerous workshops with children and women to raise awareness about laws in Delhi and various other parts of the country.
- Worked for Oxfam Noveb on the issue of the FCRA Act 1997 Rajasthan in 2007.
- Worked with UNDP for a film project pertaining to legal literacy.
- Authored papers/chapters on Rehabilitation and Resettlement laws in various states for IGNOU in 2003 and 2007. In 2014, wrote papers/chapters on legal literacy for Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University.
- Served as a member of the sexual harassment committee at Lady Harding College, ESI Hospital, ZILMIL, and other private companies.
- Collaborated with leprosy-affected people and instituted PIL with the help of Delhi High Court committee.
- Served as a member of the Family Welfare committee (New Delhi) constituted under the direction of Hon’ble Supreme Court from 2017 – 2019.
- Appointed as a board member of the steering committee under JJ Act for Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) Ministry of Women and Child in 2015 – 2017 also worked as a member of the NOC committee to clear files pertaining to international adoption as a legal expert from 2016 – 2022.
